Alaska’s Year Round Play Ground
Recreational Areas – State
Big Lake North State Recreation Site: Located at the end of North Shore Drive; has 60 camp sites, 24 picnic sites, toilet facilities, drinking water, picnic shelters and a boat launch. NO alcoholic beverages are allowed.
Big Lake South State Recreation Site
Located off South Big Lake Road; has 20 camp sites, 10 picnic sites, toilet facilities, drinking water and a boat launch. NO alcoholic beverages are allowed.
Rocky Lake State Recreation Site
Located off Beaver Lake Road; has 10 camp sites, toilet facilities, drinking water and boat launch. Rocky Lake is closed to jet skis, jet boats and air boats.
Little Susitna River Public Use Facility
Located on the Little Susitna River at the end of the Ayrshire Road: has 145 camp sites, 41 picnic sites, toilet facilities, drinking water, boat launch and sanitary dump station.
Recreational Areas – Borough
Fish Creek Day Park: Located on South Big Lake Road, adjacent to the creek; has picnic tables, a pavilion, toilet facilities and a salmon viewing platform. Playground equipment was installed in the fall of 1996.
